Restorative Justice

Barbara and Kay Pranis co-hosted the first Restorative Justice conference in Minnesota. It led to Minnesota being the first Department of Corrections in the nation to have a restorative justice planner and provide funding for more than a dozen community-based restorative justice programs around the state.

Barbara and Center colleagues have trained restorative justice in Romania for both community and corporate providers. Barbara also served for several years as the director of the international Victim Offender Mediation Association.

Barbara has published articles on restorative justice and uses its principles in her training and consulting. Kay is a nationally known author and trainer focusing on the restorative practice of circles.
